Ants are one of the animals that often irritate us. Because, insects that live in groups often eat away our sweet food. Or worse, they provided a supply of food that should have been stored for several weeks in the cupboard. Ants are very organized insects. They sent scouts to enter the house in search of food. The ant soldiers will leave the pheromone path. If the scout finds food, the scout follows a scent trail to return to the nest. Other ants then follow the path and enter your house. So, the best way to keep ants away from your home is to destroy their scent trails. Unfortunately, most ant killers contain insect venom which is harmful to the health of families and pets. There are several ways to get rid of ants at home naturally. Vinegar-based cleaners will interfere with the scent trail left by the ants. It works even better if you add peppermint essential oil, which is a natural insect repellent that is effective against a variety of household pests. Borax is a natural mineral salt that has a wide variety of household uses. These are available in the laundry section of most grocery stores. Borax is not toxic to humans but may not be safe to use around pets. To kill the ants with borax, you need to mix it with sugar to attract their attention. Mix 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of borax. Sprinkle the mixture where you see it often. Fill a spray bottle with one part liquid dish soap and two parts water. If you have peppermint oil, add a few drops. Shake the solution well, and spray it on the ants and the surrounding area. The soap will stick to the ants, dehydrating them and making it difficult for them to move or fly, and the peppermint oil will suffocate them.
