A splendid castle in the Gulf of Trieste built for the Austrian Archiduke Maximilian who later became Emperor of Mexico, where he was killed.

The castle has a splendid park of 22 hectares with different species of trees from all over the world.

In the castle there is a museum with original furnishing and the restored throne room.
