The College of Islamic Sciences in Kharuba is the first academic Islamic academic institution established during the Algerian national independence period. This establishment came to meet the need of the Algerian nation to know its religion and to express its originality and authentic Islamic affiliation, as well as an extension of the efforts of former scholars of the nation. Has spread throughout our beloved country from the schools of Tlemcen and Bejaia to the era of the reformer Abdul Hamid bin Badis [3].

The College of Islamic Sciences was established under the name of the Institute of Islamic Sciences at the University of Algiers in Algiers in 1402H corresponding to 1982 by virtue of Decree No. 82-23 of 20 Rabie Awal 1402H corresponding to 16 January 1982 and amended by Decree No. 81-28 of 8 Jumada The first in 1401 corresponding to March 14, 1981, under which the Institute of Islamic Sciences at the University of Algiers [4] · [5].

The Institute was transformed into a "National Institute of Religious Assets" by virtue of Decree No. 85-174, which was made by the Institute of Islamic Sciences a national institute for the fundamentals of religion. Within the framework of the structural reform of the Algerian University, the Higher National Institute of Religious Assets, In accordance with Executive Decree No. 98-253 of 24 Rabi 'al-Thani, 1419, corresponding to August 17, 1998, and pursuant to Article 2 thereof, under which the faculties of the University of Algeria were established including the Faculty of Islamic Sciences.
