Why is TITHING CONTROVERSIAL when it is commanded by God ???

Tithing has been criticized by so many Christians and non Christians , accusing Church Ministers of SCAM.

Why this attack despite Jesus commanding Tithing compulsorily in Matthew 23 23 etc.
