We will all readily admit that our phones are now more than just communication devices for dialing and receiving calls or messaging, they are now mobile offices, maps or places locator, transaction medium amoung other things. • It is an electronic gadget! Treat it as one!
Food, drinks or even fluids of any type should be kept away from your phone. Keep it in dry places.
• Do not leave your phone charging for more hours than necessary
To ensure the longevity of your battery and prevent overheating, avoid charging for longer than necessary.
• Avoid smashing or hitting of hard surface
Constant dropping or forceful impact on hard surfaces may lead to fault both on the screen and the other hardware parts. It is advisable to get a screen protector.
• Get the latest Operating System and update applications.
It is advisable to always try to upgrade your phone’s OS to the more recent one in order to enjoy the benefits that come with it. Also, update applications as there are new additions and modifications that come with them.
• Install only applications from trusted sources
A friend has an application and it’s awesome? Check out the modifications properly to ensure you do not download an infected application. Infected applications may cause defects to your phone’s software system. Androids are able to download good applications from Play Store while iOS can download through iTunes.
• You are not an engineer if you aren’t certified to be one.
Your phone is showing signs of defect and you think it probably might be a part you can operate on? It may not! Visit a certified engineer who will determine the fault and repair it. Endeavour not to surpass the little DIYs which you can do.
• Back up your data
You more than anyone know the importance of the data contained on your phone. It is quite advisable to back them up in case of theft, lose or virus. Backups can be done on your mail, a flash drive or hard disk.
