Spirit of Work Tips on Monday

in #tips7 years ago

For workers, especially office workers, Monday is the most avoidable day because today is the day that starts work for a week, while Friday is the most-awaited day because the weekend is in sight. Therefore, we often hear catchphrase or see status in social media like "I do not like Monday!" or "TGIF! (Thank God It's Friday!)". However, there has recently been a new catchphrase that has been buzzed by many motivators both in Indonesia and internationally, namely "Monday is Money Day" which invites workers to change the perspective of Monday that makes it a day that opens the door to many opportunities for sustenance and success.

Here are some tips to improve morale work on Monday:

Wake up early

Some people like to wake up early, even earlier than the rooster crowing or the call of dawn prayer from the nearest mosque. That's great. But some people almost always have trouble getting up early, when they have been assisted with alarms. Sleep early so you can wake up early. Set your alarm 15 minutes faster because then you will have more time to prepare before work. Do a morning prayer or meditation to prepare your body and mind for activities throughout the day. You will feel more conscious and connected with the things you need to do in the workplace.

Prepare since Friday

If you've made plans to travel out of town over the weekend, then prepare everything for the next week on Friday after work, such as ironing work clothes, grocery shopping, washing vehicles, and cleaning the yard. If most of the preparation has been done from afar, then Monday morning you will be more controlled.

Breakfast

Almost everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This statement is supported by many studies showing that people who often skip breakfast will have difficulty concentrating and feel energy shortages in the workplace. And this does not include shame because there are thunderous voices from an empty stomach around 10 am. Make sure you eat a balanced breakfast. And if you do not have time, you can eat a banana and a glass of milk.

Set achievable targets

To improve your productivity, set some simple targets for today. These simple targets should be fairly easy to implement, but also quite difficult, requiring your earnest efforts, such as arriving early at work, completing a deadline today, and returning home before sunset in order to spend time with family. Adding a regular structure to your daily activities at work will provide many benefits, including increased creativity, better time management, and the ability to prioritize.

Plan a fun activity

Sometimes you need to reward yourself. Why wait until Friday to have fun? You can plan a fun activity on Monday after work, for example a romantic dinner with your wife / husband or go to a movie theater with friends.

Avoid negative thoughts and words

Regardless of how hard your efforts to stay cheerful, Monday is often filled with the negative attitudes of others. From your journey to work or colleagues at work, sometimes you will hear other people's complaints that they feel tired and less rested because the weekend is spent traveling out of town or partying. The trick is not to let someone else's negative comments affect your cheerfulness. Instead of joining their negative chat, you can choose not to participate and focus on work activities.

Do good to others

Because you know that almost everyone is suffering from Monday, why do not you do good to make their day a little better? You can do a little good deed wherever you are, such as making breakfast for the family, giving your seat on the bus to the standing person, and giving credit to colleagues. Remember, as bad as your day, there are others who are not as fortunate as you. This life should not be spent by focusing on the bad things that happen, but enjoying the things that go well.
