In my opinion, this is the price we have to pay to truly decentralize. The steem blockchain is not scarce of people with a contrary opinions. It's hard to get anything done with someone pointing or screaming: 'tyranny! Dictatorship! We won't have this." Without proffering any solution. I do not think steemit inc is stopping any project from thriving. We speak so much about decentralized, which in other words means a weak center and a strong branch or branches which can still interact with themselves. In our case, it is the reverse. Ned and his team are the ones subsidizing things here and they have reasons to. No one relinquishes power so easily. What steemit inc has is power and it is not willing to let go of easily.
It's all going to take time and a lot of conflicts to get where we are going. The essential thing is that we are heading towards our goal, either by chance (like what is happening now) or our own doing.

Have you ever met anyone who likes to relinquish control?
A constant negotiation is required but it continually stalls at key points of contention where personal agenda and ego overrides solution.
At some point, one has to compromise in order to move forward. This will definitely happen A lot of egos will be deflected as time goes on. If things continue to slide down, I mean price, much of the noise will disappear, leaving those we care about this platform to do something. Mine is to write and share my perspectives on issues I can relate with. And also explore this blockchain like I am ready doing.
