Congratulations! You look thoughtful—and you sound that way too. In fact, for a long time, I enjoyed spending my birthdays exactly that way: alone or just with my children. Preferably outdoors—at a lake with a campfire or on a mountain we had hiked up beforehand. The main thing was that it was quiet and far away from everything ;-)) Today, I find myself thinking that it's okay to have a few guests or a nice event.
