My DairyGame 01/12/2025 : A Magical Day in Sidi Bou Said
Hello steemians,
The previous Sunday, I had the immense pleasure of walking in Sidi Bou Saïd, this picturesque village nestled on a hill on the edge of the Mediterranean, this escapade in the company of my friend Mohamed will remain engraved in my memory thanks to the beauty captivating places, encounters and unique moments that we shared. Our adventure began with a panoramic view overlooking the characteristic white roofs of Sidi Bou Saïd, under a partly cloudy sky, the sunlight pierced through, gently illuminating the landscape and highlighting the brilliance of the white facades and blue shutters that are the signature of this village, this scene, combined with the deep blue of the sea in the background, offered a soothing and memorable visual spectacle.
Mohamed and I wandered the cobbled streets, admiring the colorful doors for which Sidi Bou Saïd is famous. A bright yellow door, richly decorated with wrought iron designs, particularly caught our attention, it stood out for its bold appearance while remaining in harmony with the surrounding traditional architecture, another blue door, framed by a stone arch, seemed straight out of a fairy tale, in front of the latter, we immortalized the moment with a knowing smile.
No visit to Sidi Bou Saïd would be complete without tasting the local specialties, we shared a bambalouni, this delicious fried dough sprinkled with sugar, while enjoying the lively atmosphere of the small squares lined with blue chairs, this simple but warm moment reminded me why I love exploring the culinary traditions of the places I visit so much.
We also made a stop at a craft shop where hand painted ceramics and ornate rugs were on display, the traditional patterns and vibrant colors of these items were a testament to the incredible local craftsmanship, it was difficult to resist the urge to take everything home as each piece seemed to tell a story.
While strolling through the streets, we met a man holding a majestic falcon, this bird, symbol of nobility and freedom, fascinated me with its presence and calm, the opportunity to observe it up close was a rare experience and enriching experience that added a touch of adventure to our day.
At the bend of the alleys, I had the pleasure of discovering an interior courtyard decorated with an orange tree, the whitewashed walls and the windows framed with blue grilles created a typical and serene decor, I took the time to appreciating the simplicity and elegance of this place by picking a tangerine straight from the tree, a small gesture that reconnected me with nature.
Before leaving Sidi Bou Saïd, Mohamed and I took a last photo in front of an emblematic door, marking the end of a day rich in discoveries and emotions, the memories of this escapade, between breathtaking landscapes, local culture and shared moments, will remain in our hearts for a long time, Sidi Bou Saïd is not just a place, it is an experience that awakens all the senses and revives the soul, I highly recommend anyone to visit this Tunisian gem and enjoy immerse in its timeless beauty.
Best Regards,
@kouba01
