THE DIARY GAME: 07 AUGUST, 2020: What a day
A bright and early morning, woke up quite early owing to the fact that I have to visit my local banks for some rectifications on my account. Had a few calls from friends and took a nap afterwards, the cold was in full gear.
Woke up two hours later, a little behind schedule and rushed through with the house chores, fixed breakfast and headed out. Over a couple of months I couldn't pick up my atm card for one of my accounts, owing to the fact that work was crazy then the lockdown effect came in, which lasted for a while.
Today one of the branch nearest to my home opened and I took the opportunity to get the card. My thoughts were it shouldn't take too long to pick it up and head to the second bank to make a transfer.
I got stunned when I got there and met a lot of people waiting to process one transaction or the other, immediately I got discouraged and was about leaving when I saw a colleague from university days. He urged me to stay for a while, check the turn out of things and see if luck might be on everyone's side. The queue was way too much and the chances of the bank staffs meeting everyone's demand were slim.
Waited a little to gist and catch up, and I headed to the second bank. Little did I know I was going to meet similar fate there. Got to access bank, picked number, of course you need it as a pass and waited till I was called in. The management were considerate enough to provide comfort while we waited.
After one hour I was called in and met another queue at the customer service center, responses rolled in quite early and within an hour I got my account issues fixed.
What a day, by the time I left the bank it was already past 2, I was famished and exhausted, got home, gulped the food and took a shower. Went in for a nap and that went for hours till my alarm rang for me to check on the trades I took and went back to sleep. I love my sleep hours uninterrupted.
