Or rewrite code like a copy of DAI and remove SBD from rewarding. So SBD has no impact on inflation, is scalable and it adds a lot of value to the Steem Blockchain. It also adds more Trading Value on the internal market.

I totally agree with you, I have proposed a code iteration to make this all happen at blockchain level, but this next HF is only for SMT's and no room for added complexity, so we are at least a year away from any such fix. In the meantime we have to do band-aid stuff like this.

Voting minnows doesn’t fix the peg.. it helps distribution and if done correctly it could attract people to come here (combined with a good UI and ultimately a place people want to be).

“Give people money” generally doesn’t help anything longterm tbh.

You could not be more wrong. That is the economy.
Creators create and users contribute and they get rewarded for it.
The more someone adds to the ecosystem, be that via quality content, offchain contributions, dev work, the more they get out of it and Steem is thus distributed into more hands which drives the economy further.

Its not "giving away money". That is a very misleading statement that doesnt describe what happens on Steem at all.

Calling Steem a place where "they give away money" is disingenuous and one of the stupidest things you can say.
...and that coming from a witness of all people.

Fixing the peg is a pretty stupid thing to think you can do.

Voting minnows has nothing to do with fixing the peg.

When whales do this stupid shit they are making a statement that they are more willing to waste Steem on pointless initiatives then distribute it to content creators.
The pump yesterday did more for bringing SBD close to 1 dollar then SBDpotato ever did.
Yet they pollute the trending page.

It seems like the trending page has always been flooded with steemit related posts in general, maybe anything steemit/steem related could have its own tab on trending that isn't the default view that everyone sees. A steem circle jerk is not the best way to present ourselves to the outside world.
