Disneyland Hong Kong part 1. Jungle river cruise and Tarzan's tree house and big grizzly mountain.
Hey everyone, so on my last visit to Hong Kong we got up to all sorts of cool stuff but Disneyland was surprisingly good and I have so many pictures of the whole day so I will spit it into 3 parts over the next few days.
I really thought Disneyland was going to be a bit boring as it's aimed mostly at kids but boy was I wrong. We had a great day out and although it was for kids the nostalgia factor was great and all the famous characters from when I was a kid really made it a fun day out.
The detail that is put into each and every aspect of the park really is amazing and that is definitely something I can appreciate more now I'm not sprinting through theme parks looking for the nearest roller coaster or candy store. It is quite amazing how they have made everything seem so real especially in some of the new attractions like the Stark expo center or the Star Wars area.
Anyway, I will start from the beginning, after a short train ride on a custom Disney train we soon arrived at the park and it was pretty well organized so not too much queuing to get in. Our first stop was the jungle river cruise and Tarzans tree house which from a distance looked really cool, Tarzan's dad must have been a master carpenter.
Each boat for the cruise had a guide who spoke a specific language so everyone could enjoy the full experience no matter where they were from, which I thought was a nice touch and they were all dressed up looking the part too. I thought this was going to be a short slow ride around the tree house with some guy telling us the story of Tarzan but it turned out to be a whole separate thing with all kinds of stuff going on. We came across quite a few different animals from elephants, hippos, rhinos and even gorillas none of which were real but even up close were very convincing, apart from the gorillas chilling in hammocks and firing barrels at us from cannons. Along the way, we encountered rapids, flaming caves and underwater volcanoes and even a native tribe trying to hunt us down. It was extremely well put together and made for a great start to the day.
Next stop Tarzan's tree house. We jumped on a log raft to cross the river to the tree house and again the detail was awesome. It wasn't just the tree house but the whole surrounding area had props set up from the movie and the story of Tarzan is told as you walk through the grounds and up the rope bridges to the tree house. All the characters were there and there were also plenty of interactive stations for kids to get involved. It wasn't a huge area and it took only around ten minutes but it was really good and brought back good memories of climbing trees in my garden screaming like Tarzan.................a few weeks previous after one too many ciders ha.
Next stop big grizzly mountain. This whole area was built to look like an old gold mining town and it really did. Everything was made out of wood and they even had a legit sawmill there and all the real tools on display, once again the detail was flawless and everywhere you look there is a good photo opportunity. The big grizzly mountain also has one of the parks roller coasters, the grizzly mountain runaway mine cars which was a really cool ride changing directions and taking you through really cool themed areas.
There was also a water cannon battle area for the kids to go crazy and soak each other before moving on to the park.
I will leave it here for part 1 and continue with part 2 with Toy story land, mystic manor and lots more.
I hope you enjoyed this write up and please let me know your favorite Disney attractions if you have ever been there and if not I hope I can convince you to check it out.

this is not saying that you have been. It is asking if you have been.
You would know because they would leave a big plagiarized picture of grumpycat on your page and then downvote your post for no reason.
