100 DAYS OF STEEM : Day 86 - The Diary Game - Update #6

It’s been a big week for The Diary Game.

Season 2 of the game has been announced, we have started recruiting for Game Assistants and the number of participants has raced through 200 and is now heading towards 250.

We hope you are all looking forward to Season 2 of The Dairy Game as much as we are.

The Dairy Game - Season 2

We announced Season 2 on Tuesday…

Season 2 will start on August 1st and run for 50 days.

Season 2 - Teams

One of the big changes for the second season will be the introduction of Teams.

As well as playing individually, participants can join up with other players to compete for extra prizes as teams.

Teams will consist of five players - with the added twist that all the players must live in the same country.

While some may see this as inconvenient it is partly to introduce a little bit of friendly national competition, but also we hope the national teams will encourage recruitment to Steem particularly in countries that currently have few Steemians.

There is still a month until Season 2 starts so get recruiting for your teams.

Season 2 - Prizes

The prize pool is now going to be 8000 STEEM.

5000 STEEM will be for individual prizes, 2000 STEEM will be for team prizes and the remaining 1000 STEEM will be a special prize pool for the best recruiters.

The points will be allocated largely based on post quality and creativity, with extra points being allocated for recruiting people to the game.

Recruitment will be a significant part of Season 2. We are hoping to have at least 500 participants in season 2.

Season 2 - Game Assistants

As the game scales up in Season 2 we are looking to recruit a number of Game Assistants to help with running the game.

Game Assistants will be recruited for each continent and can be players or non-players in the game.

We are also looking at other ways to streamline and speed up voting and curation.

Season 1 - Update

We are now approaching 250 participants in the current game.

This is excellent news although it has meant we have got a little behind with the voting.

But do not worry - every post gets looked at, and all eligible ones get voted before the end of 7 days voting period.

We would appreciate it if you do not post your diary entry links in the comments of the 100 Days post unless they have reached day 5 and not been voted on - or if it is for your first entry in the game.

This will help us keep on top of the comments relevant to the day’s post.

Please also do not put Twitter or other social media links or screenshots in the comments on the 100 Days posts. They should be in a comment on your diary post so we see them when we are curating the posts.

Although we are in the final couple of weeks of the current Dairy Game it is still worth joining if you haven’t already. Every post earns votes and it will be good practice for Season 2.

It might also help you find a team for Season 2 if you want to compete for the extra team prizes as well as just individually.

Entering The Diary Game is very simple - just make a post, in any language, about your daily life activities and include #the100daysofsteem and #thediarygame among the first 5 tags.

Please also make sure you include the date of your diary in the title of the post.

Season 1 - Extra Points Available

To add a little extra spark and sizzle to the final 14 days of the current game we are introducing two extra ways to earn points - Super Recruiter Points and Helpful Commenter Points.

Super Recruiter Points

Currently you can earn 2 Recruiter Points for anyone you recruit to the game after they have made 3 eligible diary posts mentioning your name.

For the final stretch of the game we are now offering 5 Recruiter Points for anyone you recruit to the game who is new to Steem, or has been dormant on Steem for at least 12 months.

The 5 points will be awarded once they have made five eligible posts and a ‘This Is Me’ introduction post.

The new instant signup for Steem will help with this - but you will have to move fast, and hold their hands!

Helpful Commenter Points

We are very keen to encourage players to read and comment on other players posts - particularly those from your own country.

For the remainder of the current game we are going to be awarding upvotes and points to players we see engaging with other players through meaningful comments.

We will particularly reward people given useful tips on how to improve the posts. This must of course be done in a friendly and respectful manner.

These Commenter Points will be awarded on an adhoc basis and are not guaranteed for every comment.

You will need to make your comments before @steemcurator01 arrives to vote on the post to be in with a chance of getting the bonus points.
