Bunny Hash does another outstation and the women-only group kills it

in #thailand3 days ago

There's a running joke here in Chiang Mai HHH circles that the Bunny Hash focuses on very different things than the men-only or the mixed-group events here. At Bunny Hashes there is always plenty of food with a far lessor focus placed on having tons of beer. While this might not be the case around the world, Thai women generally are much less interested in drinking beer than men are.

At their recent outstation they all had a bunch of fun and because it was on completely new territory, nobody other than the Hares was familiar with the landscape.

I wasn't invited to this one but this wasn't because I am a bad person or anything. The only men that were invited were fellow hashers that happen to be in a relationship with one of the Bunny members and honestly, even this is kind of frowned upon unless it is specifically requested.

This is fine and nobody takes offense at it. The Hash House Harriers was originally a "gentlemen only club" and women were strictly forbidden from attending. Many of the Hash chapters around the world are still this way and we have a men only group in Chiang Mai as well. Most of our events are mixed group and we have a very successful Bunny Hash which is women only so I think it is all fair.

What you can expect at a Bunny Hash event: The same level of trail excellence that you would get in any other Hash, some would argue that they are even better or more well-thought-out because women generally speaking are a great deal more patient then men are. You can also expect plenty of beer and I have never heard of them ever coming even close to running out. The main difference is that there has never been a Bunny Hash without food and for the men-only runs that we have, it is very unusual for us to ever have anything other than some bananas and maybe some cookies and chips. The Bunny Hash generally has BBQ's and cakes. They certainly know how to handle that side of things a lot better than the men do.

The Bunnies also tend to focus more on having something unusual on their runs such as this very unique bridge that I would be afraid to put many of the men in our group on top of.

Especially as far as outstations are concerned, the Bunnies tend to put a lot of care into their trails and honestly, I feel as though they do a much better job of making sure everything is taken care of. I'm just sayin'! I've never heard of anyone getting hopelessly lost on a Bunny Trail!

The Bunnies don't really have a schedule like the other groups do but they do have regular events and all of them are women only, if that is the sort of thing that appeals to you. Just like the men like to have a break every now and then I can only presume that the women feel the same way.

Their events are featured on the Chiang Mai H3 calendar as well so if you are visiting Chiang Mai and feel a bit intimidated by the mixed groups, you can always hit them up. They have their own management and everything and their full schedule can be viewed HERE

On On!
