My GENSHiN iMPACT End of the Road

What a fun and beautiful gaming experience this was even for someone like me who's pretty much anti-phone-gaming. I would like to play it further, but I can no longer continue due to miHoYo's unfortunate save state and graphics issues.

miHoYo is a centralized company with the goal of making as much cash as possible, but imagine how great this game would've been if it had a decentralized nature like that of Splinterlands where all the weapons and items are NFTs. Even if you lost interest in the game, you could come back months or even years later to find those rare items and characters you won, but sadly forgot about, have seen crazy amounts of value come their way.

They made $2 billion dollars off this game so far, which means they're doing the right thing for the stockholders and investors, but as a gamer, I would have actually spent some of my money on those lucky falling stars if I'd known the weapons and characters I could win would be my own NFTs.

Another problem I had with the game was that I was playing it on my phone. I'm an old-school gamer and just can't enjoy using sluggish and awkward touchscreen controls, especially on a small screen like a phone. If by some miracle miHoYo lets me continue where I left off when I get my PlayStation, then I'll happily jump right back in, but I can't be bothered to start all over again. It's not like this is a Zelda game. Another thing I hate about the save game situation is that your progress is reset if you change servers. What the hell's up with that? I live in Asia but my kids live in America. So I'm supposed to have two accounts? One for my friends and one for my kids? That's just stupid. I should be able to change servers without losing all my progress. What was miHoYo thinking?

I really enjoyed Genshin Impact and miHoYo's previous game, Honkai Impact 3rd so I'll be keeping an eye out for what they come out with next. I had some good memories playing Genshin Impact this year, but I remember having to switch between low-resolution and high-resolution mode anytime I wanted to take a picture for fear of my gameplay looking like it came from a PlayStation 2. I really wanted to get this picture of me sneaking past the sleeping robot hoping he didn't wake up while I switched to high resolution, snapped the shot, and switched back to low resolution again. I'm glad I didn't wake him up because I never did beat one of these robot things before.

Amber can unlimitedly shoot fire arrows which made her my favorite character. If the game ever jumped into an online co-op mode I'd make sure I helped out my buddy but from a distance.

Gaming Photography

Flying was the best part of the game for me. I could never get a good picture flying in HD mode even though my phone was marketed to me as a gaming phone. I'm sure getting screenshots from a console will be easy to do.

Stormterror

This part of Genshin Impact should be called Storm Error. If you get stuck in this CGI failure of game design, you can hold down on attack and still beat Stormterror even though you can't see what you're doing.

I first played Genshin Impact on my iPad Pro when it first came out and it would get stuck anytime Stormterror would show up without any way of getting past the animation scene that was crashing the game. It happened again on my phone, so I can no longer progress in this game, and like I said before I prefer using a Sony PlayStation controller over any touchscreen gaming.
