Financing Terrorism through NGO and International Donors in Nigeria

Boko Haram terrorism has been everywhere in the international media. The senseless killing in the North East of Nigeria has been under reported around the world. But what baffles me is that moneys send for aid to these regions are not audited. The Non Governmental Organization are sending loads of money an material for the displaced people and for rebuilding without knowing that those money some how gets to the terrorists themselves.

This issue may not be clear to any NGO that is outside country. Over 70% of foreign aid coming into Nigeria is diverted to the North East region. This means millions in very hard currencies and in materials are available to to some few individuals for the usual diversion. Many reported cases of loss of trailer loads of rice meant for the Internally displaced People. Just like the military industrial complex, some network of leaders in Nigeria are benefiting in a large scale. Some top generals seems not to be in a hurry to end the war. The federal government is pushing in so much money in the defense ministry. You may not want to agree that soldiers unexpectedly disappeared in the last Boko Haram kidnapping of the Dapchip School girls. I am wondering why the international communities are turning blind eyes to leadership crisis in Africa.

Something different has to be done on how aids are given to African countries. If blockchain technology is introduced to the system, it will make sure that aids get to the people that needs it.
