Thermal Apocalypse
-Grandfather, tell me again, how did we get here?
-Carlitos that story I've told you many times.
-If Grandpa, but I like to imagine what the world was like before it was destroyed, being outside must have been very beautiful.
-Well, son, yes, it was very beautiful, it all began more than 20 years ago, when the temperature of the planet climbed to more than 150 ° C in some parts of the world, the few people that remain alive are because we have built our shelters below of the earth in order to survive and, as time has passed, we have dug to communicate the refuges until we have created a city under the earth.
- Grandfather, my friends want you to tell them everything you have told me, Luisito and José do not want to believe me tell them about you.
-Good boys feel that this is for a while, years ago this was one of the most important issues in the world and of which many do not realize how serious this situation was for all, we were the main cause of this misfortune and we have become one of the most damaging climatic agents in the world.
The influence of humanity with respect to global warming began with the deforestation of forests to convert them into cultivation and grazing land, this brought with it the felling and burning of trees, and not in accordance with all this, we began to produce gases that in high concentration are pollutants to the atmosphere such as carbon in factories and automobiles, nitrogen oxide, ozone and methane, all this has produced the greenhouse effect, which has caused great damage to the planet.
-Mr. Pedro, how is that the greenhouse effect?
-José these gases are normally found in the atmosphere and serve to regulate the climate because they adsorb and retain the heat of the sun, so that an increase or decrease in its concentration was decisive for the temperature of the planet, this brings as a consequence the increase of the heat, this causes that the solar rays enter the earth and do not leave, for this reason the earth suffers a warming.
- Sir, and is there nothing to do?
-We tried to reverse the damage by aligning ourselves with other countries but it was too late, the ozone layer has created a hole too big and every day has been increasing to the point where the damage is irreversible.
The sun's rays have destroyed parts of the outside world, we no longer have forests, we are running out of oxygen and the fires are spreading more and more, they are destroying the few trees that we have left, people are dying burned, the heat is killing them, has brought many diseases such as malnutrition, thermal stress, asthma, ocular infection that causes blindness, heart and respiratory diseases, among others. Not to mention that we are running out of water in some places, while in others the glaciers have melted disappearing some islands.
Who was going to imagine that the activities we practiced in our daily life would bring this apocalypse as a consequence?
-Grandfather and since when do not you leave this shelter?
- About 8 years ago, we decided not to go out anymore, the heat outside is hellish, the term land engulfed in flames, the sun's rays are passing directly and it was getting worse.
- Grandfather, do you think that this will one day improve and that all this will be as before? We would like to know the trees and breathe the fresh air you are talking about so much, see how the sun is and play with the animals, we do not want to die here.
-We do not know what to do, we are dying little by little, we do not want to lose hope of returning to live a normal life, we can only hope that a miracle from God will help us and if that happens we must be aware so that this does not come back to happen.
This is a reality in which we are living, we have to be more aware of the damage we are causing the planet if we do not want to end up in an apocalypse like this and we have to tell our children what the world was like because they they will not be able to see it.
This is a very heart-touching story mainly because it's more real than we both might ever think. It's just that I'm feeling like it doesn't seem the kind of world I'd like to live in, but sadly it could be the future of mankind. Good job, congrats for giving such an amazing story!
Congratulations! Very good story, I liked the narrative a lot, I like that from the stories I read I had a teaching, it made me remember what we are living, I hope that one day humanity will become aware of what is happening and avoid polluting both the planet , because this story can become reality.
