Programmer Offers Free Email Hosting For Websites & Domain Names
Andrew Belt, a programmer and student at the University of Tennessee, USA, created the website Pawnmail.com as a email hosting solution for websites and domains. Belt shares this platform with the public as a free email service and accepts tips in the form of Bitcoins and Paypal to help pay for costs. For 1 email account, it costs Pawnmail $0.06 cents per year.
Each email account provides 2GB of space, so it's minimal, but can be quite useful for those who need a temporary or small email connected to their site.
Pawnmail's server is not encrypted, so you'll need to take extra steps to protect your information at your discretion. There are instructions on how to secure your information on the website.
Creating an email account is an easy 3-step process:
- Register your domain name with Pawnmail.com
- Add the provided MX record to your domain's DNS configuration
- Log in once DNS configured
I currently use Pawnmail for two of my domain names. I made a recurring $3.00 per month donation because I really appreciate and support the service. This solution is exactly what I've been looking for, specifically to communicate with prospective buyers of my domain names.
This video by DomainSherpa.com is my original source and gives valuable overview and instruction on the registration process. Definitely check it out if you want to learn more or need some guidance on getting started.
Hope this helps!
