Facebook: Artificial Intelligence for suicide prevention
The social networking site Facebook will try to stop its users’ suicide. For the past, there has been an increase in the incidence of suicide using Facebook Live. Artificial Intelligence will be used to prevent suicides.
Facebook has given official information about this. Facebook's Product Management Department's Vice President Mr. Rosen said that users thinking about committing suicide should get help immediately. Not just friends but usually even relatives are in the friend’s list of a user. If a user posts about suicide or publishes a live video, still this information could be immediately notified to his friends and relatives so that users can refrain from suicidal thoughts. Use of Artificial Intelligence will help detect suicide post or live streaming. Rosen said he would continue to work on this technology to get more accuracy. A few months ago, Facebook launched the Suicide Prevention Tool on experimental basis in the US. This tool will now be operating in other countries except in the European Union.

This is indeed a great approach by the FB team. It is the young generation who is more into social networking, and FB is used by almost everyone. Hope this step will prevent suicide attempts.
