Water Taxis 🚕

Today's article is very interesting, we will talk about something new and futuristic, not imaginary futuristic projects it's starting to happen right now!

Have you ever heard about "SeaBubble" ? guess only few if none!

SeaBubble is an experimental hydrofoil, the size of a small car. It is proposed they could be used as water taxis in cities invented by: yachtsman Alain Thébault

Alain Thébault (born 19 September 1962 in Dijon) is a French yachtsman and skipper of l'Hydroptère that  first set sail in 1994.

(Hydrofoil: a boat whose hull is fitted underneath with shaped vanes (foils) which lift the hull clear of the water at speed).

ZERO IMPACT TRANSPORTATION

.  ZERO WAVE

.  ZERO NOISE

.  ZERO CO2 EMISSION

READY FOR THE PRESENT

.  NO CONSTRUCTION WORK REQUIRED

.  NO NEW LEGISLATION REQUIRED

.  SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATED INTO THE CITIES\’S TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE

Seabubbles was presented in VivaTechnology Paris 2017 and it was one of the most interested project shown.

(VivaTechnology:  VivaTech is a hub for the world’s innovators, tech-lovers and pioneers of the future - we exist to create relationships that will change business and society for tomorrow)

Who are SeaBubbles?

We are the aeronautical engineers and sportsmen behind the Hydroptère. We have been making boats fly for decades. And one day, we realized that we could put it to good use for the public.

(Hydroptère is an experimental sailing hydrofoil trimaran designed by French yachtsman Alain Thébault).

Seabubbles vision:

We believe that pollution and global gridlock are not only threatening our welfare, but are ultimately threatening people’s freedom of mobility.

Because in 2050, there will be 4 billion cars in the streets, and even if they are all powered by clean energies, it will still create a massive traffic jam. We believe that the future of mobility will rise from the water, a natural, historic path in the cities that has been underrated for a long time.

What can SeaBubble do?

We open waterways for everybody, all around the world, by creating a new way to move people on waterways at car speed, for the price of a regular cab, with no impact on the environment nor on the cities’s infrastructure.

- It is the only zero-impact transportation ecosystem ready for the present

We make the riding experience on waterways the best possible so that people will be glad to choose the most eco-conscious transport solution.

Where will be SeaBubbles in the future?

In the next 5 years we will be in 50 cities, seamlessly integrated into the transportation’s systems, and a part of people’s daily habits. And if it inspires more and more people to take the waterways instead of the roads, it will be a huge progress for cities all around the world. People will be able to change the destiny of the city, one ride at a time.

The Bubble:

100% electric, the Bubble is autonomous during its rides and is charging while people are getting in and out, while stationed at the Dock.

People can enter from the side door, with the help of a hostess, and take their seats into the Bubble.

Once the doors are closed and the Bubble secured, it will get out of the Dock and start moving.

When reaching 12 km/h (7.5 mph), the Bubble will start flying above the water, preventing from any seasickness, sudden movements or waves rolling.

Once the ride is over, the bubble slowly comes back to the water level to reach the Dock, letting its passengers out and waiting until The next ones are ready to board.

Specifications:

Zero wave – Zero noise – Zero CO2 emission

Powered by a battery system that uses clean energy

Different versions already in R&D

ow power consumption’

5 seats including a pilot in the current version

Based on the foiler technology from the Hydroptère

Conclusion:

SeaBubbles "flying water taxi" wants and will be the future Uber for water taxis, they already built the Bubble (boat) with  battery life up to 7 hours, already have their own application and have their own dock.
