"Sofia" the humanoid robot come for exhibition in Bangladesh at 'Digital world exhibition' in 6th December 2017 which held in Bangabandhu International conference center. This is 1st robot who capable of talking like human and making more than 62 facial expression. Many people visited the exhibition to meet Sofia n to listen her.
Sofia is a world's first artificially intellect robot developed by Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics. Sofia was activated on April 19, 2015 and made her first public appearance at South by Southwest Festival in mid-March 2016 in Austin, Texas, United States.
Hanson designed Sofia to be a suitable companion for the elderly at nursing homes, or to help crowds at large events or parks. She can follow faces, sustain eye contact, and recognize individuals. She is able to process speech and have conversations using Alphabet’s Google Chrome voice recognition technology and other tools. Around January 2018 Sofia was upgraded with functional legs and the ability to walk.
She is the first robot to receive citizenship of any country. Sofia got citizenship in October 2017 from Saudi Arabia. In November 2017, She was named the United Nations Development Programme's first ever Innovation Champion, and the first non-human to be given any United Nations title.
