In my post of Saturday, SA Solar Challenge I promised to post a video of the start of the race, and here you have it. I have also posted the results of day 2 below.
The Japanese team took the lead in day 2 . As can be seen, in the leader board below, both teams covered the same distance, but the Japanese team completed the distance a minute quicker than the defending Dutch team. The South African School team is ahead of the South African University teams as both received time penalties because they arrived late.
The TUT team took their car back to Pretoria after day one and worked throughout the night to fix a buck on the car, and made it back to the start line in time for the 7:30 start!! This is dedication.
The poor Hong Kong team now shows a negative distance of 2.3 km covered, due to penalties, they however got their car running and did 10 km on solar power, hopefully it will go better today. There are still two teams that did 0 km on solar power, which are placed ahead of the Hong Kong team, strange!!
You can read more about the Solar Challenge by following the two links below, the second link is the Facebook page and they have some very nice photos of the event, it is worth while to have a look at it.
I hope you liked my post as much as I enjoyed writing it!!
The video, was taken with my iPhone, in Pretoria, South-Africa.

@rynow,
Wow it's a nice challenge and it seems they are covering a huge distance! The world is moving into free energy sources! So this is so great to see that innovation!
Cheers~
This was a really nice event to attend, I am sorry that I cannot follow the entire race in person!!
Wow... this is so exciting! Japan is impressive but well done to all the nations as well.
It should be also called the race of technology too, let see who is the long chase racer!
