I don't believe this to becoma a new skynet or anything though haha :) Many news outlets reported that the lab technicians were spooked by the rapidly evolving language the bots were developing, but the reality was that the experiment had seemed to just proceed toward a wrong direction and as such was terminated. Also the bots were very simply negotiating for arbitrary items with values. It's interesting to note that our beloved internet fact checker Snopes wrote an article about this just to point people to the right direction:
