New CHEAP Telecom: Wing

in #technology6 years ago (edited)

For some time now, I've been hearing about how phone plans in the U.S. are astronomically expensive and everyone feels like they're tied to them.

Over 37 billion dollars are wasted every year on unused data.

And all of this is money that simply goes back to your phone carriers.
With this idea in mind, Wing, a new Telecom company on the rise plans on taking over the giants, putting out competitive prices for a service that they claim is just as good as what the other carriers offer, why? Because they use the exact same cell towers.

Perks:

  • Dynamic pricing: which basically means that you pay for what you use.
  • You can manage your contract seamlessly through their app. And also add more data mid-month should you need to.
  • You can buy any of the phones they offer, with 0% APR or bring your own.
You're also given the choice to have 12, 18, and 24-month payments.
  • High-Speed data in +135 countries for $13.00 per GB.
  • Keep your phone number, carry over your old lease when switching. They're all in when it comes to help you switch.
They'll send you a sim card, no hassle.
  • You get a 30-day trial or your money back.
  • You don't have to have a flip phone and pay smartphone prices. Yes, that means your grandma will be getting a pretty nice deal.

This is what their plans look like.

This is what their options look like for a family plan.

So far it all sounds really good, and it looks like these guys have good intentions for the market. I will keep following Wing's journey through a tough field as it is Telecom in the U.S. I'm only sharing because I think that this is the start of something that will evolve and result in a more user-friendly and affordable usage of Telecoms. I really hope they take off.

If you want to check them out just click here and it will lead you to their website.
Another link here if you'd like to hear about it, and have a little laugh. It does have "adult" language.

Has anybody switched over already? What are your experiences?
I'd love to know, so feel free to comment below.
