Exploring Tech - Researchers Trained Eobots To Anticipate Your Every Move

in #technology7 years ago (edited)

Within a few years period the Droids from Star Wars are likely to appear to be relics. Today’s robots might be better suited for sewing clothes as well as creating automobiles, however tomorrow’s might be as indispensable and ubiquitous as our smartphones are.

A group of experts in Europe recently published a white paper unveiling their experiments in training robots in order to anticipate human actions. The team’s work, to create “robots that may predict human activities and intent, and comprehend human non-verbal cues,” could pave the way for innumerable improvements in the field.

The researchers centered on merging earlier research teaching AI to understand human gaze and pose, both these styles that are crucial for robots to understand in order for them to work with humans.

According to the team:

"Circumstances where fast co-operation is important, for instance cooperative assembly, need the knowledge of subtle non-verbal cues about the human intention and future action. In these scenarios it is not enough to simply recognize the current action. Rather, it is fundamental to predict actions and anticipate the actual intent in order to guarantee seamless cooperation."

Utilizing black box AI by means of a recurrent neural network (RNN), the machines learn to figure out the “intent” of a particular person depending on where they’re looking (gaze) and the pose of their body. Whenever it gets things right, it transfers its newly found “knowledge” through the different layers in its RNN where the data is then normalized.

These types of machines learn to anticipate exactly what humans is going to do next by guessing. If given a limited amount of tasks, these machines could turn out to be incredibly accurate within a relatively short amount of time.

According to the paper:

"We assume a leader-follower paradigm in which the robot chooses his activity like a function of the possible next human actions and also the humans actions aren't influenced by the robots action choice."

It would be amazing if we had robots which could effortlessly zip in and out of our lives as we work and play. With finely tuned AI these machines could move among us, without evoking the slightest disruption, in a position to cope with our mercurial human nature by predicting what we are definately do next rather than reacting.

we’re just a few years away from machines that may move faster compared to human-eye.Robots along with super-speed and also the capability to anticipate exactly what you’ll do next? We can’t think of any kind of reason that could be a bad idea.

a robot will never write a good original song, nor paint, nor plant a garden. only by imitation of what a human has already created.

Yes.They are emotion less and they never intellectual as humans
