RE: @sportspodium explained in Laymen's terms
Hello.
I will certainly look into your project. I find it totally familiar.
I was working for Slovenian Sports Office in years 1996 to 2005. We established a national platform for sports information and included everyone involved. From sportspeople, clubs and societies, federations, OC, ministry, recreational sports, ... everybody! Results, events, structures, participation, evaluation, categorization. All that on the local and national level. The whole package :)
Commerical usage was not encouraged then. Now the times are different :)
We did it old fashioned way - with web application and Oracle database. The stuff is still working :)
I was also a part of IASI - International Association of Sports Information. An umbrella organization for sports related data. Lots of great people, true experts there.
Yes, it would be great to use this new age technology for sports data.
Hi @ervin-lemark,
This is wonderful to hear. We would love to chat to you more about this? We have various forums on chat groups. It would be wonderful if you could pop into our Telegram group: https://t.me/SportsPodiumPublic
It is Friday afternoon here so most of the team are probably having a beer somewhere :) But we will chat to you over the weekend.
OK and gladly. It looks like the weekend will be rainy. I will check the chat from time to time.
Take care :)
Ps: I had to install Telegram app on the phone to be able to join the group :) OK, first step taken. I am in now.
That was very interesting, thanks for sharing @ervin-lemark. We would definitely love to talk some more to you.
