The World Wide Web
An E-mail can be frantic or leisurely. You may get a response in a week or an hour. Within a day you can get a dozen responses and more than three dozen by the end of the week.
Communicating on the internet is fascinating, some even say enchanting. There are none of the physical clues that, for good or bad, provide us with instant judgements about the people we meet there. No clothes, no hair, no age, no body language. No smile to indicate a potentially sarcastic remark is just a bit of kidding. Just computer typefaces.
That’s why the medium has given rise to a whole new set of symbols called “emoticons”.
Its safe to say e-mail has revolutionized the way we communicate to one and other. But what about the dark side, the possibilities for abuse?
In cyberspace people may not be who they say they are; information disseminated may be bogus. Like any community, cyberspace or the internet will be only as good as the people populating it. It will reflect society at large.
Wrle depend on the interent heavily and whatever direction cyberspace ultimately takes, one thing is certain, its here to stay for the long run no there's no avoiding it.
