Humans and machines will work as a team within five years
A Dell Technologies study reveals that, for 82% of CEOs surveyed, mixed workforce, human and machine teams will soon be a reality. However, opinions are divided about the future.
The study carried out by the independent market research firm Vanson Bourne follows the motto "Realizing 2030: The Next Era of Human-Machine Partnerships" from Dell Technologies.

One of the key conclusions is that by 2030, emerging technologies will cement Human-Machine partnerships, enabling "richer and more engaging relationships than before", "helping to overcome our limitations".
Most business leaders applaud evolution: 82% of respondents expect humans and machines to function as integrated teams within their organization over the next five years. But leaders are also divided about how the future presents itself - is it an opportunity or a threat? - and pressured by the need to mitigate the risks that are to come.
Risk of Cyber-Attacks
Specifically, 48% of the respondents in the scope of this study is of the opinion that the more we depend on technology, the more we will have to lose in the case of a cyber attack. The number is high, but still lower than those who do not have this concern (52%).
Half the CEOs, says the Dell EMC study, want clearer protocols to predict failure situations on standalone machines, while the other half abstains. And if in the opinion of 45% computers will have to decipher what are good and bad commands, 55% do not see this need.
Divided leaders
One thing is undeniable. We are entering the next era of Human-Machine relations with a divided view of what the future will be. Half of the 3,800 global business leaders surveyed under the "Realizing 2030: The Next Era of Human-Machine Partnerships" believe that system automation will free up time, but the remaining 50% disagree. Similarly, 42% consider having greater job satisfaction by dedicating certain tasks to machines - an argument contested by 58% of leaders.
Jeremy Burton, chief marketing officer at Dell Technologies at the time of the study presentation, explains why it's easy to see why the business community is so polarized: "There are two extreme perspectives on the future: the vision of human obsolescence, based on a more anxious approach, and the optimistic view that technology will be the answer to our biggest social problems".
These different perspectives may, in the opinion of the manager, make it difficult for organizations to "prepare for a future" that is coming and "can become sand in the gear in this process of change that imposes itself".
Still according to the Dell EMC study, organizations unite around the need and the way of transformation, but they do not advance at the required speed: only 27 percent believe they are leading the transformation by integrating digital into all of their processes.
"Accelerating innovation, boosting growth, increasing IT efficiency and reducing costs" are the main benefits of the transformation pointed out, and the higher the degree of maturity the greater the benefits. According to the study, the organizations involved in the "transformation" could reallocate another 17% of their IT budget to innovation. Likewise, these companies complete three times as many IT projects ahead of schedule and are ten times more likely to deploy most of their applications. Transformed organizations also say they complete 14 percent more IT projects below budget and spend 31 percent less on core business applications.
"While corporate leaders have contrasting views of the future, they share a common need: transformation", Jeremy Burton concludes. "We are reaching a very important milestone. Companies need to face reality, transform their IT, their workforce and security to take a leading role in the future. The alternative is to stay behind".

Very interesting... but I hope I'm a Crypto Millionaire by then and won't have to worry myself with any of my robot coworkers.
Ahaha, exactly, that's the idea!
hi @diogosantos
Arent we working as a team already? :)
I don´t think so, at least not on the scale we wish.
Rightnow machines are our extension... (example, mobile phone is used for anything that can help our daily life)
Thank you for being so responsive @diogosantos
