Vivo, a Chinese giant smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled a pair of smartphones that may define an era in the smartphone history. Let's take a look at them.

NEX S

This is the top of the line version of the NEX phones, featuring the best possible specs.

Price and availability

The price will be begin at around US$702, going up to US$780. It will be on pre-order from tomorrow in China, available in offline stores on June 23. No word yet on international availability.

NEX A

This is a slightly toned down version, only in terms of the specification and fingerprint scanner. External features and others such as camera, etc remain the same as NEX S.

My thoughts

I really like these phones. I don't care about the maker, the specs or the UI. That design! I'm sure many other companies like Apple and Samsung could pull off this sort of a design if they wanted to, but they didn't. It was Vivo that did and I admire them for doing it. If I was in the market for a new phone, I'd definitely look at these phones as one of my first choice options. What I'm more excited about though is what will follow. I'm sure there will be phones boasting over 90% screen-to-body ratio and more innovations in this area. Cannot wait to see what's in store and what this phone will be capable of!
