Cryptocurrencies thrive on massive, decentralized
participation, but even people who are heavily invested in
cryptocurrency ecosystems often are not technically
inclined to become network participants (running nodes,
staking, mining). Similarly, users with substantial latent
computing power available (pc gamers, digital media
professionals) neglect to participate in cryptocurrency
networks even when doing so would be directly lucrative.

To participate in Boid, users simply need to install and run the Boid
application on their computing devices. The Boid
application can run on most MacOS, Windows computers
as well as Android devices. When users allow the Boid
application to run in the background, the application
automatically contributes the available computing power of
the device towards various distributed computing projects
and blockchain protocols. Users computing contributions
can be tracked online in the form of a metric called “Boid
Power”, which dictates the rate at which a particular user
will earn some monetary reward. Users can choose to
redeem the monetary reward in the form of
cryptocurrencies, including the native BOID token.
