10 examples of using Apple's augmented reality technology ARKit + bonus in the end ;-)
SPOILER: a lot of videos with amazing things!
First applications created with ARKit will be available on iOS 11 this fall. But enthusiasts use beta version of new operating system and create some interesting things with augmented reality.
ARKit provides a cutting-edge platform for developing augmented reality (AR) apps for iPhone and iPad. ARKit uses Visual Inertial Odometry (VIO) to accurately track the world around it. VIO fuses camera sensor data with CoreMotion data. These two inputs allow the device to sense how it moves within a room with a high degree of accuracy, and without any additional calibration.
I collected the best examples of using this technology. See and inspired!
1. Demonstration of technology in simple games
2. BB-8 from Star Wars
3. Creating and interacting with different objects
4. Test device position tracking
5. Demonstration of the state of models, depending on the lighting of the room
6. Tracking of planes in the frame
7. The character dances in the middle of the room
8. It's something incredible! Just look!
9. Working with lighting on the model of the Fatal widow's character from Overwatch
10. The model of the whole room on the table
BONUS
Really useful app with ARKit - Measuring!
What do you think about this technology? Does it have a future?
