Controversy in Steemit. Conspiracy against your CEO?

The year 2018 brought many challenges to blockchain projects. The bear market caused large communities to decrease their size in members and budget. With a vicious circle when, due to lack of capital, people sought new sources of income outside the crypto ecosystem, and that this desertion also diminished the capital of the projects. Steem was no exception

Recent chronology of Steemit The HF20 that was held in September 2018, brought hope that things would improve in the block chain. Criticism was already accumulating towards @ned (Steemit's CEO and creator of Steem's blockchain) and the role of Steemit Inc due to its delay with the SMT and it was around those dates that announced its definitive release for March 2019.

That hard fork came with some technical problems that left the platform without activity for several days. The users with low Steem Power were with an announcement that they could not publish because they had spent the resources. As time passed, it was solved and the newest steemians got used to the new change, managing their resources better.

This brought positive things. For example many already understood the importance of investing in their accounts, acquiring more SP and doing power up more often. It also brought the union of many witnesses who worked together in the solution of technical problems.

After this, criticism of Ned increased, because the changes of the HF20 were not paying off. The most anticipated was the creation of new accounts more easily and at lower cost. As of today, people should expect the same or more to obtain their free account. The straw that broke the camel's back was when Ned announced that he would give a press conference where he would explain, among other things, the dismissal of 70% of his employees and that the community could ask their questions. This did not occur and Ned warned that he was sick so he reprogrammed it a few days later. That day did not attend either and did not give any notice with the reason for the cancellation. Several weeks went by without the community knowing about Ned, until they got involved in the discord of PAL in a program organized by the witness and creator of the game Steem Monsters @aggroed.

The inconvenience was accumulating due to the disappearance of the CEO of Steemit and a power down (withdrawal of SP) of $ 800,000 he made. The lack of communication was giving rise to rumors. After that program to which he arrived spontaneously, he was introduced to the forum of S.O.S. organized by @pennsif, in this already more planned and announced to the community. The attendance was massive and he answered all the questions, some with greater security than others. Among the most important aspects is that Steemit will begin to open spaces for advertisers. A dapp will be created for the organization of this. Conspiracy The most awaited question by the community was answered in the end. The why of power down. Not only the 800,000 that were already known were to cover administrative expenses of the company, but 34 million Steem that are currently shutting down.

Ned's response was about a conspiracy, which confirmed some rumors. A subject that was debated but that would not have motivated the main witnesses. Also a publication on Github would lead to much speculation. The purpose is to fork over Steem's blockchain and divide it. Canceling Steemit's participation and eliminating all its accounts and delegations. The witnesses spoke with Ned and assured him that they do not intend to do it, that it was only an idea that arose and had no acceptance among them. Ned for his part assured that he feels distrustful because he was hidden from this for some time. Ned's statements included the words stealing and hacking. It is for this reason that he performs power down and takes those Steem to the exchanges.

They say that this generates distrust in investors. But Ned distrusts the witnesses. All this coincides with a good rise experienced by Steem in recent days. To take into account. - Ned is assisting the discord to talk with the community, anyone can listen to him and ask him questions, taking a step to improve communication with the community - Several witnesses and influential users see positive that Steemit has less power in the blockchain and that we are more decentralized. Come with good eyes that Steemit turn off and sell their Steem. - No witness of the top 20 has pronounced supporting the HF21 - The developments of dapps have advanced a lot, the committed community continues to work hard for the platform, it is Steemit Inc that does not present substantial advances. - Many users feel cheated by Ned, thinking that their investments will be lost. I remind you that Steemit is not Steem. Steemit alone is a company that has a large percentage of Steem and gives them the most influence on the platform. Although Steemit is no longer the one with the most traffic; others like @steemmonsters and @partiko have an impressive ascent.

It is time to take a more protagonistic role, understand that everyone has an investment here and participate more. We must get involved with the projects that are being developed, because in the blockchain world one is responsible for their money and the steems that you have in your wallet are your actions in this ecosystem. It does not matter if it is 1 steem or 100 thousand, do not underestimate your investment. No one is going to take care of you, so take action. Great initiatives are coming out of this. Proposals such as that of user @pennisf with the S.O.S forum are perfect to unite the most committed community that will make Steem a modern and attractive platform for investment. We have already demonstrated with cases like Netcoins that we are the most active and united community, and each time we will be more. It is very likely that the centralization is less and less and that is precisely what we always ask for. Now we have to move that wheel forward.

Hi @alvaro1721, I'm @checky ! While checking the mentions made in this post I noticed that @pennisf doesn't exist on Steem. Did you mean to write @pennsif ?
