Steem is definitely a very unique cryptocurrency model. I've been reading the white paper and trying to understand it, though it can touch on some pretty complex economics topics, and am pretty surprised at how in depth the creators of steem put on creating an economic platform with solid foundations.

Some things I find interesting:

1. pegging to US dollar
2. SUBJECTIVE proof of work
3. steem inflation, steem power as a "share" in the cryptocurrency and steem dollars as debt

From what I see so far and also the adoption of steemit, definitely very bullish on this platform. A big upside to this currency is better content discovery though.
