Teardrops; Every Pain has a Purpose
I was once a dad, and will always be a dad of an angel in heaven.
More often, the empathy after child loss goes to the mother, which for me is very understandable because the mothers are the one’s attached most to the child specially during the 9 months of baby’s growth in the womb. They get to hear each other’s heart beat, they’re breathing the same air, they share the same food together, and because of that I do honor my wife with great praises and respect. I admire women and respect every women specially when we are talking about pregnancy. A life lives within them and that’s never an easy job to do.
I guess this is the opportunity for me to talk about men, and how we are dealing with grief. Please remember that part of me is my wife and my child. When I see them in pain, that doubles the stab in my chest while in the thought of getting all the pain that they’re going through. Being a man I apologize because I can no longer go into details of the past. Let me just pour out the emotions and share how a man deals with one of the lowest points in life.
I just cannot cry, it’s showing that I’m weak, but still I had to... so I did. Then I realized there’s nothing wrong in expressing pain. I had to cry it out and feel it, that made me feel human and I had to cry more tears even after the days had gone by. Men, we often hide our feelings, but when the situation asks for it we do not have any choice but let the tears fall, that’s part of being human and that is called emotions.
At the end of the day, our only choice is to accept our fate, bring back the faith that once was lost and stand up. Look forward to a ray of hope because God never leaves our side. I had to be strong and bring my wife back to the Lord, because I know as one, as husband and wife we have to face life together and be in faith together. This is our only weapon to survive life and the pain we had to face forever.
