Unless you've been living under some rock, you probably know that MrBeast, one of the most influential YouTubers, recently launched a mission of planting over 20 Million trees by January 1st, 2020 to hopefully slow down climate change, if not reverse it.

MrBeast, with the help of the Arbor Day Foundation and all the people who are donating, aims to start off 2020 with a big message and breaking the stereotype that millennials are only good at complaining and cannot take real actions.

In his video he explains that for every dollar donated, a new tree will be planted. As simple as that.

The good news is, they've already made some pretty remarkable progress. This is essentially the biggest YouTube collab in history with more than 600 YouTubers actively participating and spreading awareness including PewDiePie, Mark Rober, Marques Brownlee, Linus Tech Tips, jacksepticeye, and many others.

But wait, there's more!

Celebrities like Alan Walker, Jeffree Star, and Jack Dorsey too have joined the party. Not long after that, even Elon Musk decided to step in and take the lead by donating 1 MILLION DOLLARS!

"Ok, sounds legit, will donate 1M trees" says Musk in his Tweet reply.

As I'm writing this article, #TeamTrees has already raised over 8,163,043 dollars. That means 8,163,043 more trees in the world that are fighting and slowing down climate change.

If my math is correct, that means we've already achieved more than 40% of the goal in almost a week. That is so insane!

This idea of planting 20 million trees was born when MrBeast's fans started spamming him on social media to plant 20 million trees when he hit 20 million subscribers on YouTube.

That's one way to celebrate, that's for sure!

If all goes according to plan, this will not only help our environment but also send out a very powerful message to the world of how much the current generation cares about our planet and how we believe in making a serious change by doing what the previous generation should have done long ago.
