Get healthy with line dancing

There are so many ways to get healthy. Apart from eating healthy, exercise is one of the most important things to do.



There are so many types of exercises that can be done. It depends on what your interest. You can go jogging or hiking, playing games like badminton and basketball. You can even go to gym or learn to dance. Talking about dancing, I have ever followed Line Dancing class long time ago, but I have to stop due to time constraint.


Have you ever heard about Line Dancing? What is Line Dancing?

Line dancing is a choreographed dance with a group of people stand in lines, and dance in a repeated sequence of steps in a synchronized manner. It consists of patterned foot movements that are usually performed. Each pattern has a number of counts per sequence, and then the sequence is repeated. The dances are done with one-wall, two-wall, or four-wall.

How line dancing was started?

Line dancing first started in the late 1970s to early 1980s, in the USA. Line dancing using disco music, country and western songs.

So, what is the pattern or steps?

There are few steps or patterns that being used;

Electric Slide
Cupid Shuffle
Cha Cha Slide
Country line dance step
The Hustle dance step

Some of the songs that being used;

Sweet Caroline
Be Alright
Rolling Rythym ("Perfect")
Honky Tonk Highway
Body Rock
Sha La La
Lay It Back

So Steemian, are you interested to learn this dance? Apart from can sweat out, learning the dance also can practice our brain to remember the steps in different songs. A very good exercise for the veterans to improve their memory too. I have my sister's testimony that she told us, her memory has much improved after joining this group. She said before this, she keeps on forgetting certain things.

I believe that, by following this class, it will make us healthier, more friends and also improve our memory. As for me, I'm trying to find time to exercise. Maybe I will try to go jogging and will try to follow the Line Dancing again. I need to lose my weight though 😅.
