Microfiction Literature: Write in Micro Size

For the 21st Edition, a general macro challenge of six weeks is proposed. Structured in 6 weekly challenges called “EDITIONS”, each one independent and of a non-prelative nature in order to encourage the incorporation of new participants in each weekly challenge. Although they are all linked together as a learning unit. The Editions are designed as follows:

• 1st Edition: The Micro-story in my country. Introduction to Literary Microfiction.
• 2nd Edition: We write with an established theme.
• 3rd Edition: We write in Telegraphic Language.
• 4th Edition: The conjunctions of language as tools.
• 5th Edition: We write in Metaphorical language.
• 6th Edition: We share stories of farewells.

Expected results

• Creation of high-quality literary content for the platform.
• Positioning of Steemit as a creator of microfiction literature.
• Raising the quality standard in written productions.

By interacting, participants will be able to broaden their vision of how microfiction adapts to each culture and country. Their productions would be promoted in gallery format on Facebook pages and other platforms. See examples:

Example of three Lessons:

Edition 1: The Micro-story in my country/culture.

In this edition, the participant creates a micro-story of less than 150 words, where he creates a story about how stories are told in his culture. Skills to Develop:

• Search, research, presentation of results and conclusions.
• Research micro-fiction literature in his language.

Edition 3: In Telegraphic language. Write concisely.

In this challenge, the emphasis will be on the conciseness of the language. Create a micro-story of less than 100 words. Leaving out the essential words in the story. Skills to Develop:

• Condense the language.
• Conciseness and Precision.

Edition 6: We share stories of farewells.

In the last challenge, the participant applies the lessons learned by creating a story that condenses their experience during the six weeks of the challenge in less than 50 words. Maintaining the requirements of the micro-story of generating emotions and a surprising ending. (It can be adapted to Christmas stories depending on the culture and religion) Skills to Develop:

• Conciseness and surprising ending.
• Stories under 50 words

360° Assessment

This learning challenge is based on learning by doing, with a highly practical approach through challenges and tasks. It includes self-assessment and evaluating others according to established criteria to learn and provide feedback through constructive criticism. Likewise, the participant receives weekly feedback from the facilitators, focused on achievements and aspects to improve.

Products.

Each edition establishes, as the main evidence of compliance, the creation of a publication in Steemit, containing: at least 1 micro-story written under the guidelines of each challenge and a section of reflection and self-assessment of its writing process. Likewise, evidence of having provided literary feedback to the creations of other stemians.

Quantitative Aspect

The grade will be established in rubrics with a 10-point scale, with 5 general criteria aimed at:

• Structure of the story: Title, beginning, development and end. 3.5 points
• Use of language: conciseness, precision, linguistic turns. 2 points
• Self-assessment in reflection. 1.5 points
• Evaluating others constructively. 1.5 points
• Design and format of the post. 1.5 points
