Tattoo Story Contest Entry...

in #tattoostorycontest8 years ago (edited)

This is a photo of my pet Leviathan, which to me has some deep meaning. Basically, I was brought up in a very religious family and was labelled the black sheep pretty much from age 2. My mother and her church goers thought I was possessed by the devil and those christians tried to exorcise my demons! I kid you not! Needless to say, I left home at a young age and was always told I was bad trouble (except from my nonna)!

The Leviathan symbolises a 'crooked' serpent. A myth that grew from peoples lack of understanding of what they thought was a sea monster, and its only natural that if you don't understand something you FEAR it, right...?
Well, that's how I had been treated and I felt that this creature was a reflection of my life. Rejection based on misunderstanding.

So I had it tattooed on me as a way to judge people. He is a bit of a legend because he scares away the true evil people and only leaves behind the genuine souls.

Thanks papa - pepper for letting me share my tattoo and story and thanks to my tattooist also who made me smile for a while and became my good friend.
