Why This restaurant?
You'd think if I'm going to review a restaurant in china. wouldn't it be more interesting if I shared a more traditional or exotic chinese cuisine serving restaurant? Well perhaps. But no chinese restaurant has uplifted my mood ever as Khan Baba has!
During my 6 years stay in china, I lived in hangzhou and travelled a few places, but never Beijing. I was saving Beijing for my last ever trip in china as I would have to go to beijing for misintry works anyway after graduation.
My schedule for the trip to beijing was pretty tight. I had just 2 days to get my work done and visit the Great Wall and the Tian 'an Men Square because i had a flight to catch within a day after I return back to hangzhou. That flight being extremely important as if I delay that flight I risk the chance of missing my Medical License exam by a year, so basically If I miss that flight, I stay jobless for 1 year back in my country. As simple as that!
So as expected, Something went wrong and panic had overtaken me. I sat by the roadside wondering what was to come for me. It was almost lunch time and even though I didn't feel like eating anything, I lifted myself up and started the search for a restaurant and asking people around.
A random chinese guy at a mall suggested me I try out Khan Baba.
So I went in and it was a buffet lunch. I've heard people say food can lift your mood, but this was the first time I experienced what food can do! How much food and memories were tied together!
The flavour, the smell, everything reminded me of home! And all of a sudden I felt much more protected by a sense of calmness as I had my first bite into that delicious Samosa.

The chicken curry on the side was heavenly, with gravy perfectly complementing the juicy pieces of chicken breast! I ate the curry with their fluffy, soft Naan bread!

The veg curry was you can see on the side was filled will flavour of subcontinental spices and a very prominent punch of the traditional Panch Phoron spice mix!
Though it was a buffet lunch, I had work to get done! So I quicky ended my meal with crisply fried chicken nuggets and precisely smoked slices of Chicken Tandoori.

As I was in quite a hrry, I didn't get any pictures of the whole buffet layout, but there were a lot of dishes and it costed me only 70 Chinese Yuan. which is roughly USD 10.
And with an uplifted mood, and a full stomach I set out in my quest to get my official work done in the busy Beijing Traffic!
Until Next time!
Peace!
