Here is a special restaurant in Lhokseumawe
In the city of Lhokseumawe, in Aceh, these past few days have become "famous" due to reporting on rules prohibited from sitting astride women when riding on motorbikes. Behind the "splashy" news, the small town on the coast of Aceh saves a treasure trove of food that is so delicious.
Lhokseumawe is not a destination targeted by tourists to get away. For a long time the city grew as a city filled with immigrants. A large company, Arun, once triumphed in this city.
Coupled with the fondness of Acehnese who like to "hang out", no wonder along the way there are many coffee shops to cafes. Almost all cafes provide free internet access.
However, behind the onslaught of modern nuances, typical Acehnese culinary remains a favorite of local people and immigrants. Here are some of them.
Sate Matang. Not that the cooked satay is not cooked, but the name "Matang" because this typical Aceh satay comes from the Matang area, Aceh. In Lhokseumawe, Matang Warung Sate in Kruenggeukueh is the most popular place for mature satay hunting.
Cut large amounts of mutton marinated in spices. After being burned and cooked, the satai is served with a bowl of spiced goat broth, like a goat's tongseng.
Goat Curry and Cane Bread. In Lhokseumawe, a restaurant called "Bangladesh" is so famous. Cane bread and goat curry are the mainstay menu.
The famous menu is actually fried rice. But if you call a good goat curry, then the recommendation for the place to eat is definitely "Bangladesh". Friday is the last day. After Friday prayers, the Acehnese have a goat eating habit.
Soft cane bread with savory butter shades and a cross of sweet sugar flavor combine nicely with a spicy goat curry full of spicy spices.
Not to mention, the aroma of cinnamon and cumin adds to the pleasure of eating. Bangladesh is on Jalan Perdagangan, located close to the Lama Terminal Lhokseumawe.
Mi Aceh. People outside Aceh call it "Mi Aceh". Acehnese call it enough "mi". Not complete if you haven't enjoyed Acehnese noodles in Lhokseumawe.
It is said that the best noodles in Lhokseumawe are in the "Mi Apayan" stall on Jalan Medan Banda Aceh, Kruenggeukueh. A broth rich in spices made it glimpse like curry sauce. Then thick noodles in addition to sea ingredients strengthen the noodles.
The most popular noodles, of course, are crab noodles. Can also choose squid noodles or shrimp noodles. The sea ingredients used are so fresh, because Lhokseumawe is indeed on the edge of the sea. The noodles are better eaten with additional chips and cucumber-red onion pickles.
Grilled fish. Easy to guess, because it is on the edge of the sea, the menu of grilled fish is a must-try culinary in Lhokseumawe. The cooking method is actually very simple, just salt and pepper, sometimes with a touch of tomato sauce.
But because of the freshness of the fish caught, the simplicity of the marinade actually brings out the original taste and texture of fish meat. One of the favorite places to eat grilled fish is Pondok Bahari which is right on the edge of the sea, precisely on Jalan Samudra Lama, South Hagu.
Visitors can directly choose which fish they want to burn. There is also a delicious salty menu. Thick pieces of salted fish so that it is crispy on the outside but solid in it. Not too salty blends nicely with tomato sauce.
Pineapple Sambal Shells. At night on Jalan Perdagangan, impromptu stalls start to appear complete with chairs and tables that sell boiled shellfish. This kind of menu is a snack for friends to hang out at night.
Fresh and un smelly fishy shells are boiled just after being cleaned. Just add a little salt. Simple. Well, the thing that makes it special is the chili sauce.
The chili sauce for boiled clams is pineapple sauce. Mashed peanuts mixed with crushed pineapple as well. A little touch of pepper and salt, the result is savory and crunchy beans combined with the sweetness of pineapple.
Pancung Coffee. Well, here is the "espresso" of Aceh. Coffee pancung is a "hang out" drink for Acehnese men. They can spend hours in a coffee shop while chatting, enough with a cup of coffee.
