I finished reading Dr Tara Swart's book "The Source", for the second time. Reading it slowly and getting more out of it. There are various exercises that i need to do to get a deeper understanding of the subconscious aspects of the book. She talks of the power of "Action Boards", which is a collage of pictures that reflect your ideas of your dream life. When you ask yourself that big question of what are your deepest desires and where do you want to see yourself in a year or even 5 years down the road. it is not as easy to answer as you would think.
So i went to the local art store and bought a board and some glue, I also read a book by Peter Blake on collage, he was the artist that did the cover of, The Beatles "Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band".
The idea of the "Action Board" is to create a visual landscape of what your dream life would be. She instructs the reader to hang your board in a place where you see it everyday, to let the images seep into you subconscious mind. The enjoyable side of this project is to hunt for images that reflect what your innermost desires are. I also bought some watercolour paints and some brushes and a book on watercolour painting.
What i get out of reading "self help type" books is that, i can take the teachings and experiment with my self, i don't need to agree or disagree with the book, This book takes a lot of information from other books on the brain and gives it a new twist.
Essentially, what it comes down to is that we can change our lives by changing how we think, but the key is that it takes a lot of hard work, self understanding and being open to learning.
