World tallest statue
The tallest statue in the world is the Statue of Unity, located in Kevadia, Gujarat, India. Standing at a height of 182 meters (597 feet), it honors Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a key figure in India’s independence movement and the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. The statue was inaugurated on October 31, 2018, coinciding with Patel’s 143rd birth anniversary .   
Designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar, the monument was constructed by Larsen & Toubro at a cost of approximately ₹27 billion (around $420 million USD). It is built to withstand winds of up to 180 km/h and earthquakes measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale . 
The statue is situated on the Narmada River, facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam, and is surrounded by a 12 km long artificial lake. It has become a significant tourist attraction, drawing millions of visitors annually .
