Chiropractic: What is it and what benefits do you get?
There has been a lot of talk about this for some time, but the ideas are still rather confusing. What is chiropractic and what does chiropractic do? Chiropractic is a discipline that involves painful syndromes and neurophysiological effects concerning static and dynamic disorders of the neuro-musculoskeletal system. That is the definition, but let us understand better what it is about.
WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC
The Chiropractic act is a discipline that involves treating the causes of physical disorders rather than symptoms. The assumption of this discipline is listed in the following: from the structural problems of our body, particularly those concerning the spinal column, to the various dysfunctions of the body, and most essentially, the central and peripheral nervous system. The spinal cord is seen a bit like the director who gives orders to other organs. A disorder that affects it can give rise to a wide range of other problems, including back pain, headache, cervical pain, shoulder pain, sciatalgia, etc. All of these symptoms often arise from interference (or crushing) with our nerves that radiates from the column to the rest of the body.
WHAT DISTINGUISHES CHIROPRACTIC FROM OTHER DISCIPLINES?
The chiropractic differs from other types of health care professions mainly for one reason, namely the adjustment manoeuvre. In practice, the chiropractic bases its existence and its reason on the concept according to which the restoration of a proper state of the column can lead the body to heal. The chiropractic, thanks to its specific skills and practice in this area, is the only skill responsible for this so-called adjustment manoeuvre with regard to those who need it or who could in any case benefit from it, but not others, as such therapies, entrusted to inexperienced hands, or worse, to charlatans who pretend to be what they are not, are not only counterproductive, but can even prove dangerous and cause serious damage to the body.
CHIROPRACTOR: WHAT CARE AND WHAT BENEFITS?
Chiropractic is administered to those who suffer from pains in the vertebrae and functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, disorders that may be due to small traumas, to conditions of prolonged psycho-physical stress and, in general, to a lifestyle in some ways incorrect or unbalanced. Manipulation and subsequent therapy by the chiropractor can alleviate pains and in many cases allows for the abandonment of medicines. Among the most assiduous and satisfied patients of chiropractic are sportsmen and women who, thanks to it, can improve muscle performance, the elderly, who maintain greater joint mobility, and people suffering from psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression and those suffering from pain often chronic at the cervical and back. The cervicalgia, a syndrome that affects neck, arms, shoulders and hands, parts to which causes widespread pain, tingling and weakness, is decidedly sensitive to chiropractic adjustment, to the point of reducing significantly or even disappear. The same applies to headaches caused by a continuous and incorrect stress on the nerves and muscles around the neck. Although it may seem somewhat singular in a certain sense, cases that are not uncommon in which pathologies such as asthma, gastritis and menstrual pains, benefit from the typical practices of chiropractic.
CHIROPRACTIC: ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS?
As a general rule, chiropractic has no contraindications and is suitable for subjects of all ages and sex, but on one clear condition: if you intend to contact a chiropractic expert, make sure he/she is in possession of the relevant degree in the discipline obtained at a university recognized by the WFC or the ECU. Unfortunately this is obviously not the case at all, as dangerous people pretending to be chiropractic without really being so, is an aberrant and criminal practice, as it puts the life, health and physical safety of those who, completely unaware turn to it, at risk. Remember that typical maneuvers of this healthcare profession, if carried out by unqualified and unexperienced personnel, can be harmful to your health.
HOW TO BECOME CHIROPRACTOR?
What are the essential requirements for becoming an active player in this growing healthcare sector? First of all, as with any other type of work, it takes a lot of passion for the subject matter, together with the desire to get involved and, obviously, to follow the entire course of studies that makes it suitable to carry out the profession, then updating and informing yourself about every possible novelty or discovery in the field. Keep in mind that in order to do chiropractic, it is necessary to have a specialist degree in Chiropractic Doctorate, which for now, referring to an Italian, can only be obtained abroad at a university recognized by the CCE. In all, they are six years of study including a practical training period in clinics using chiropractic techniques. Chiropracticism was officially recognized in our country only a few years ago, precisely in 2007, while the profession of chiropractic was only legalized in 2008, as a result of the inclusion of a specific amendment in the financial statements for that year. HISTORICAL CENNO QUALCH, the official date of birth of the chiropractic was on the 18th of September 1895, the day Daniel David Palmer operated in Davenport (United States), with a powerful manual maneuver, called an energetic push perfectly calibrated, She "straightened" the very badly massed spine of Mrs. Harvey Lillard, who from that moment, as the same woman said, managed to "hear the noise of the wagons in the street", as before it was impossible to do. Chiropractic was born.
CHIROPRACTIC IN ITALY
In Italy, the association of operators in the sector was founded in the' 70s (Italian Chiropractic Association) and immediately distinguished itself, amongst other things, for its commitment to ensure that the discipline members were officially recognized and the profession of chiropractic finally legalized, objectives achieved, as we have seen, only in a few decades.
WHERE DO I FIND A GOOD ONE?
To begin first of all, check if it belongs to the list of the Italian chiropractic association. Then I suggest you to check the feedback of those who have already been there by writing their name on google/facebook to get further ideas.
