The sad thing is that all during the Walmartization of America, when small, quaint American town squares were dying because all of the commerce had moved to the local Walmart.; those customers abandoned their communities and make the free choice to shop at Walmart. They had full knowledge of what they were doing. They knew that a $1 spent at Walmart was a $1 that would go to Bentonville Arkansas (HQ of Walmart) rather than stay local. Walmart did not perform some zombie hypnosis on these people. They abandoned their towns and communities for Walmart. And Walmart was happy to have their business.
