Ace combat 3 emulation on android

in #supersteemian5 years ago

Hey people... For my first post, I will talk about my latest emulation achievement : making Ace combat 3 electrosphere (PS1) work on an android phone.

For that, I needed an emulator of course (I won't give its name)

The PS1 Bios file (and the good one, that's important...)

The game itself (in cue/bin format) (I used the American version wich is lighter than the Japanese one)

For that, you need at least 1GB free on your phone, set up the emulator with the Bios file (wich needs a lot of patience and determination because you spend a lot of time on the internet to find the right Bios file, extract it and try it)

Then find the game (in a compatible format) extract it (that's what takes a lot of memory).

Then sit and pray /hope that it will work...

Finally, if everything went good, BOOM! It works and enjoy

And guess what? I already finished it in easy mode (currently restarting in normal mode)

Note that I said it was the American version (no story, a few cinematic) , but I would have loved to play with the Japanese version (considered as the actual full game (the entire story, multiple endings, a lot of cinematic). However, I don't have enough space on my phone to carry two ps1 disc's (yes, the Japanese version holds on two separated discs). Moreover, I don't think that the emulator I'm using have a disc swapping ability (the game asks you sometimes to let the PS1 working and change the disc, wich is possible on computer emulators)

To the stars and beyond... Sipion
