Sundarbans is a vast forest in the coastal region of the Bay of Bengal which is one of the natural wonders of the world. Located in the delta region of the Ganges, Meghna and Brahmaputra river basins, Khulna, Satkhira and Bagerhat districts of Bangladesh and two districts of West Bengal, India, spread across North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas. As the largest mangrove forest in the coastal environment, the Sundarbans is the world's largest integrated forest. There are 6,017 sq km of the Sundarbans, which comprise 10,000 sq km, in Bangladesh and the rest is in India. Sundarbans was recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997

Plant species: Sundari, Gewa, Keora, Pashur, Bain, Kakra etc. are the main tree species of the forest.

Wildlife: The important wildlife of this forest is Royal Bengal Tiger, Deer, Monkeys, Pigs, Crocodiles, Dolphins, Guysap, Seashell, Hariyal, Balhans, Gangchil, Bak, Madanatak, Maralhans, Chakha, Eagle, Chil Machranga etc.

FISH: Not just tree resources, this forest is also a large reservoir of fish resources. Fish are found in hilsa, laita, knife, paw, rupchandha, vetki, parse, goda, Bagada, Chittra etc.

Rivers / canals: The major rivers flowing through this forest are: Pashur, Shibsa, Baleshwar, Rayamangal etc. Besides, hundreds of canals spread like a trap in the forest.
