There are a lot of whining and frustration due to lack of success on steemit (online in general  and offline). The good news, however, is that steemit encourages community building which is one of the uniqueness of this amazing platform.

According to Wikipedia , Community is a small or large social unit (a group of people) who have something in common, such as Norm  (social)|norms]],  religion, values, or identity.

 Some advantages :

  1. Knowledge: The chance to learn from one another and thus share information.
  2. Connections: through prudent networking, you will improve your chance to success and meet more like-minded people.
  3. Inspiration: The diversity of opinion, ideas and knowledge that you will never encounter alone-  example,  solution to a problem.
  4. Resources: It is impossible to know and do everything yourself (no matter how smart you maybe) therefore community will help you find people with skills that are needed to help you succeed.
  5. Support: Being able to have a community to rely on in time of distress is very helpful-especially if you join the right one.

@blueorgy I am sure that you are involved in some steemit community building here at steemit, which one do you thing will add more value to steemians in terms of getting more post views? plus adding value to those in need of success, thanks.

Hi @charles1, I see you have mentioned me.
This is automatic response so that I may respond to your mention later.

Usually there are 2 reasons for not having success.
You dont like what youre not doing, not passionate about it.
You dont want it enough to leave the comfort zone

Good points, I agree with you

Thanks for the mention, great post - contests are an easy way also to get started for newbies that are just not aware what to post sometimes :-)

Good point @uwelang I agree with you and thanks for your great work here and support. Schöne Wochenende.

Danke und gerne - happy Weekend

Bitte schön

Steemit , One Big Happy Family !!

You are welcome Karen and keep up the good work and great yummy foods. More success to you, upped.

Thanks !💕✌👍

You are welcome

Prudent voting and commenting is the key. There's a temptation to follow everyone and comment on everything in a desperate attempt to leapfrog your account into the success bracket rather than laying some good, strong foundations first.

What a lot of people forget is that worthwhile followers will look over your blog to see if your content is any good or if the post that raised their interested was just a one-hit-wonder. If you've not worked hard and built up a good portfolio of posts only bots and people begging you for follow-backs and upvotes are likely to follow you.

You said it all @dickturpin ..an amazing comment indeed , upped and following you. You are correct . I noticed some members with large following however I noticed that the people are mostly folowing from 20K people meaning that it is a F4F scheme. I agree with your comment, thanks.

I'm not sure there's any hard and fast rule to get success and the other question, of course, is "What 'is' being a success on Steemit?" Is it an account that has thousands of dollars? Or millions of SP? Is it 100% reputation or four trillion followers?

For me, I'd like a high reputation and a high amount of SP so that my votes really make a difference to people. I suppose ultimately I'd like a good, strong, circle of Steemit friends that are not only supportive of me and the group we are in but for the whole Steemit community at large.

Oh god, I sound like Jono Bacon. CC: @steevc :-D

Good point, steem power is the key plus good reputation and real followers.

You've clearly described my thoughts on this.

I followed you if that helps? :-)

Thanks Peter. Good to connect with another Linux advocate!

Just don't ever say "Is this the year of the Linux desktop?" you'll be dead to me. Bwahahaha

Wow! You just put down in writing what goes on in many of our heads, I'm sure..

I repeat dickturpin's words, 'lay some good, strong foundations first'!

Joining the right community can really make a difference.

you are right

I agree, thanks for your comment
