7 Ways to improve your brain power

How often do you think about your brain? Do you ever stop to marvel at it’s incredible power and supreme cleverness? Do you wish you had more control over your brain?
A strong memory depends on the health and vitality of your brain. Whether you're a student studying for your final exams, a working professional interested in doing all you can to stay mentally sharp, or a senior looking to enhance your grey matter as you age, there are lots of things you can do to improve your memory and mental performance.

It is not crazy that we still use only 10% of our brain. Now how we are restricted to 10% of our brain usage because we put less effort in learning new things, we tend to get restricted to our hobbies. Now for example: If you try to recall your early days when you started learning a language and that's the moment your brain started working in its progressive state and slowly slowly you learnt new things and the brain started learning and evolving. But a saturation point came and it all got restricted to few selected things. That was the point where the brain stopped learning new things or only a few things. This saturation brought a halt to the brains learning capacity.

Now lets discuss few methods through which we can enhance our brain memory

Routine Exercise

The most important thing that can keep your brain healthy is exercise. I know it is not easy, but trust me its worth it. It enhance the oxygen flow to our brain, which will help it better process and function. It even protects our brain cells and releases a chemical that enhance the overall mood. Did you know that every time you exercise, you create new brain cells. Any form of exercise increases your heart rate, which gets blood flowing to your brain, thus keeping your memory sharp.

Mind games

Now only the physical exercise but also the mental exercise is necessary to keep our memory sharp. You must time yourself while working a crossword or Sudoku to boost processing speed, attention and positive intellectual engagement. People who are cognitively active have better memory as they age. So quiz yourself, flex your brain and improve your memory power.

Do something new

As our body needs recharge which the energy is drained, in the same manner our brain needs booster. Once you started any new thing make it a habit it can be playing piano, reading novels, playing games (Both indoor and outdoor), Joining a dance class. The theme and classification are endless just you have to do is go out and try something new.

Yoga

Derived from the Sanskrit word yug. Yoga means union of the individual consciousness or soul with the Universal Consciousness or Spirit. If you think that yoga is not for you or is having a back problem try this?
Just close your eyes and concentrate on a single image it can be any image or any shape but just try to focus on that image itself it would be difficult in the beginning but once you pass a constant focus of 6 seconds you are good to go.

Eat brain-boosting food

What does the food you eat have to do with how your brain functions? Turns out an awful lot. While we’ve always known that what we eat affects our bodies and how we look, scientists are also learning more and more that what we eat takes a toll on our brains. Yes, brain foods matter (especially for our gray matter). Stress one of the most inevitable thing in the course of life no one wants to take it yet it lives with everyone. These foods produce certain chemicals helps the immune system to fight back against the stress through inflammation, as though stress is an infection.
Some of the brain boosting foods

  • Olive oil although it is not food but it is rich in polyphenols, which are powerful brain protective antioxidants.
  • Higher content of Omega-3 : Try out vegetables are sea food which have higher content of omega-3 some of them are kidney
    and pinto beans, spinach, broccoli, pumpkin, Salmon, berries etc
  • magnesium rich food like Bananas,sweet Potatoes, Winter Squas, beans, coffee etc.

Get enough sleep

What happens when you don't get enough sleep? When you're sleep deprived, your cognitive functioning plummets to a less-than-ideal level, making it hard to go about your day. That poses a serious threat to your mood, your memory and more.
It is one of the key component related to brain boost up. The better you sleep the more sharp, creative memory becomes. For adults it is advised to have 8 hours of sound sleep .
What to do before going to sleep?
Try to turn of any electronic gadget at least 30 minutes before going to sleep

Healthy relationships: the ultimate brain booster

Humans are highly social animals. We’re not meant to survive, let alone thrive, in isolation. Relationships stimulate our brain in fact, interacting with others may be the best kind of brain exercise. When we become social different views comes for all side making our mind think more and more
