StumbleUpon Is Closing Next Month
StumbleUpon will be closing at the end of next month, i.e. after 16 years since its inception. For those who do not know, StumbleUpon (SU) is a content discovery platform that has been around longer than most of the other content discovery sites.
All you had to do was press the "stumble" button and it will bring you to a totally different article from another site.
Garrett Camp, the founder of SU, started a new platform called Mix, which is also a content discovery platform. Mix is however, more like Pinterest or Flipboard where articles are displayed differently.
There aren't that many users on the platform yet, but the move to close SU is to focus on Mix as a much better platform.
If you have an account on SU, you can just shift your account over to Mix.
This probably only concerns come bloggers.
I appreciate all upvotes, resteems and follows.

Sad news. It was pretty good for traffic and the odd affiliate link purchase. Did affect the bounce rates and Google search rankings a bit though. Some really interesting sites recommended as well.
Yeah the bounce rate made a lot of bloggers stay away. I still used it a little for traffic. Gonna lose a little bit of traffic from this. Never had any affiliate sales through the platform though.
Sayonara Stumbleupon, we won't miss you XD
i will :'(
I was using this when I was in highschool to college whenever I have free time and wants to get educated and entertained at the same time. Will check Mix next time.

I loved stumbleupon when it first came out. Bloggers would help me code. I loved the music playlist that you can listen to while stumbling/blogging. When it turned into a Pinterest clone; it killed it for me.
Steemit is the closest thing to how stumbleupon WAS...
