Some decent street art finds in an abandoned building outside Da Nang, Vietnam
I went for a walk outside of the main area of town today because on a motorbike the other day I had noticed some tags near the street. I am not a fan of shitty tags, but I have found that the horrible vandalism tags can often be an indicator or something much better that might be nearby. In this particular instance I was correct, although little of what I found was particularly amazing.

These faded tags are what I noticed while I was on the motorbike and why I decided to walk back to this area to investigate further. I found a building nearby the was partially demolished and decided to walk inside and found a few tags that I would consider to be relatively decent.

I particularly like the transitional work that they did on the N and the O. That "tear" is pretty unique and not something that just everyone does. I mean, it still isn't fantastic but it is a lot better than much of the quickly made trash that we see regularly in places where it is presumed the artists didn't have permission to do this. In this case though, this building is clearly slated for removal at some point and the people who were working on it must have been able to take their time while doing their craft.

Things like this, although they are likely quite simple, make me smile more than tags do. I get that the artist wants to have their work recognized and that tags are the best way to make this happen. I dunno, I guess I just like things to be a bit more whimsical from time to time.

This one is rather amateurish, but I guess it is ok. Not great.. just ok. I do appreciate that the people who did all of these did it on the interior of a building that is clearly abandoned.
The other building nearby is a little more "iffy" as far as whether or not the people should have done it.

This building was nearby and hasn't been demolished yet. I suppose it still could be used if people really wanted to do something with it. I would imagine that it doesn't increase the resale value to anyone considering buying and refurbing it though. I know that I would be very hesitant to rent/buy a property that is covered in graffiti out of fear of them putting it back after I repaint the place.
It appears to me as though there probably wont be any new tags that pop up here but there is still room for others in the back of the initial building that is definitely slated to be razed as soon as someone purchases the land. So if you are an aspiring street-artist, here is the the approximate location. Please note that the Indian restaurant that is featured in that g-maps location is NOT the abandoned building. It is merely nearby there and this is just a starting point for you to figure it out from there. Trust me, it will be evident as you walk past it. It is within 100 meters of there.
